Easter Pup

For the Easter holiday I headed out the the country. I contemplated taking Zola but she's not much for long car rides so I left her home. My grandmother's dog, Kris, was there and she questioned my disregard for her and Zola. She was appalled I subjected her to being the only canine at our Easter shindig. Later I made it up to Zola by granting her endless lap time. Even during my precious, creative time. I had to attempt to scare her away, she puts my legs to sleep.Unfortunately, she has no fear!

New Friends

Last night, Zola was feeling rather friendly. She has taken quite a liking to my roommate, T. It was bordering on a love-fest;all Zola. Peek-a-boo! "Where did you come from?"

If she's not the center of attention she will do anything within her power to turn the tables. And, she ALWAYS wins. She's just to damn cute!

Wild Dog

Z and I took off to the wilderness for an extended weekend. It's back to work today but we had a blast. She just loves the outdoors (as long as it's not wet and cold). She also loved being the center of attention. The world was right, just me and her. Today as I walked out to leave for work she looked at me with the most yearning little eyes, "Mom, can we please just live the simple life?" Don't tempt me.Lots of long, nature walks. Grass is tall, plenty to sniff. So much hiking, she was pooped at the end of the afternoon. Cozy and warm. She's such a trooper. I just adore this little critter!

Apprentice

Lately, Zola and I have been spending a lot of time in the studio. Zola's not a fan, it's a distraction from her and she fights it. She usually wins out, ends up on my lap. Sometimes people take photos.Typical Monday night in the Zorn household. She's just to adorable to refuse.

Rule the Roost

Zola and I have been iced/snowed in since last Thursday. It's been tough for a restless heart such as mine to withstand but it's been nice to recoup a bit. Today my roommate and I did a thorough cleaning and then made some cookies and cheese dip! It's a junk food kind of day. We earned it! In the meantime, Zola roamed the table. She's spoiled, she blazes her own trail. Instead of scolding I laugh and take photos. What can I say? I'm a terrible pet parent as well as a sucker for lil doggies! Shame on me. We shall forever battle over the title, 'Queen.'

An Odd Dog

Sunday is a lazy day around my house. Zola and I sleep in and the lounge around the house. Most of the time I'm working on projects on the computer or researching my upcoming project. This Sunday was no different. Zola attempts to get comfortable as best she can while I'm seated at the kitchen table. This morning she was struggling. I guess she decided she'd try a new approach. She crawled up into my shirt and proceeded to lie atop the chair back. It was a rather odd and difficult position. After a few minutes of restlessness she seemed comfortable. I, on the other hand, was not. It was also not an easy task to remove her. Silly dog, makes for a story and some nice photos:Yes, there's a dog back there. See? A little help please, she's ready for birth! It's Siamese Twins!

ps. No comments on my jammies!

Itchin for Attention

Lately I have been a busy lady. Poor Zola has watched from the wings, or the window seal rather. Since she's my constant companion I feel I owe her. I've designated Sundays 'Zola Day.' Most people give it to god, similarly, I give mine to dog. The past couple Sundays we've headed out to my folks house. Zola loves it out there. A fenced in acre to peruse. Doesn't get much better than that for a nosy nose. She can spend hours outside. Mom gave her a toy and she lugged it all around the yard while I chased her. It's almost as big as her. When she looks at me with those eyes it just break my heart. I have to chase her even if I am wearing clogs. After all, we have to make compromises for our loved ones.

I know she loves visiting the country because every time we load up the car to head home we have to chase her around and carry her to the car. She would love to stay. She also adore my parents. They are typical grandparents, spoiling her with able scraps and belly rubs. It's a new and lovely ritual for my little soul-mate!
