Ziggy and Fugu are our the newest addition to our family. They are beautiful betas. Zola didn't like the distraction they caused as we prepared their tanks, she is so curious. The tanks turned out great and they are even wall mountable...Fun!
Ziggy's on the right in the white tank and Fugu on the left in the black tank.

Pogo
Despite my attempts to keep Zola from jumping she still jumps on everything. Dachshund are notorious for developing back problems and they are not suppose to perform excessive running or jumping but how to do stop a puppy from being a puppy? She loves to jump especially when people come to visit. My parents and brother have started calling her Pogo, here's my interpretation.

Trained Pets
I found this leather dog at Jonathan Adler . So adorable I love the other animals in the leather set especially the rhinoceros. But in keeping with the theme I present the terrier...Cute! A little pricey but maybe something to consider for the animal lover that has everything.

Oooh Baby!
Yay for our new president! I hope everyone was able to catch the swearing in ceremony. The crowds were unbelieveable. Today I saw a picture of Mr. President with Baby and I had to pass on her website. http://www.ararebreedoflove.com/ I do plan on reading the book although I'm sure I will shed many tears as I can't help it when it comes to our furry friends.

Doctor Visit
Today I took Zola to the vet for her annual vaccinations. Fortunately, she had no reaction. They gave her Benadryl before they shots and she was fine. I don't know if any of you have witnessed a canine vaccine reaction first hand but it's awful...Zola looked like a cartoon dog. Swollen muzzle and eyes, my poor puppy looked like death. Another year down...and Zola is fine!

Auld Lang Syne
Welcome to the New Year! I have been very busy over the holidays (hence the lack of post) and it has taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things. Zola enjoyed getting to see all of the family as well as her canine relatives and friends. The New Year brings many resolutions Zola's include: learning to roll over, getting through annual vaccines next week without any allergic reactions, and spending more time in the great outdoors. Over the break I started preparing my sewing/crafting studio with a fresh coat of paint and wallpaper. Zola and I have spent plenty of hours in there since, me crafting on the floor (for lack of a table) and Zola throwing her stuffed animals around. Wishing everyone the best for 2009!
